Circuit Design and Simulation With Tinkercad App

Circuit Design and Simulation With Tinkercad
Hello friends.

Welcome back to Tronic Projects For You. Today we are going to discuss how to use Autodesk Tinkercad for your circuit development and simulations. Tinkercad is a good tool available online for simulate several electronic components and it is free to do your work.

Tinkercad is a 100% online platform 3D Designing, Electronics and Coding. Most of the main components and some micro controllers with the ability of write programs and simulate. Also another feature in this app is if you don't have any kind of programming knowledge, you can generate the code by using the blocks of command.

Lets get in to work.

First go to https://www.tinkercad.com/

The above web site will open. You have to Sign Up for the app now. Click on the Sign Up button

Select signup option Create a personal account.

Then select sign up method as you wish and follow the on screen instructions. (I recommend use sign in options with Google or Apple account.

If you already registered, use Log In button instead of Sign Up in the First Step.

After sign into your account fist you will see a screen like below. Select circuits in the selection menu in the Left side.

Now you are in the circuits page where you can do the electronics designs and simulations. Select project or click Create New Circuit Button.

lets see what's inside the circuit design view.

Zoom To Fit - This will adjust the zoom level of the circuit to fit the screen

Copy - Copy the component or selection

Paste - Past the copied items.

Delete - Delete the selected component or selection.

Undo - Reverse your last action.

Redo - Reverse the last Undo action

Add Note - Add a note to the circuit

View Hide Notes - Hide added notes and unhide notes

Wire Color - Set the wire color of the wire path.

Wire Type - How to connect the wire to components

Rotate - Rotate the selected component by 30 degree angle in clockwise direction.
Mirror component - Mirror the component selected. Only for items possible to mirror in real life.

Status - The app status messages will shown at here.
Circuit View - The window will show the circuit view. (The components will show in actual view)
Schematic View - The schematic diagram will show for the design
Component List - The list of components used in the circuit design will shown.
Show / Hide Code - If there is a programmable component, the code will shown in side panel.
Simulate Project - Simulate the Project.
Send To - This will give you the options to download or share the project with others.

Group Of Components - Select the type of component list needed

Components
Basic - Only Basic Components will show
All - All components will show in a grouped manner.

Starters - The pre assembled circuits with all components and programmed micro controllers will help to start your work and get some knowledge on how to work with tinkercad platform.

Search Components - At here just type the component you need and select it, it will appear on the top of the list.
Component View - There are 2 views
Grid View - Show components in a grid without details.
Detailed View - One component per line and having a simple description on each.

So how to do our designs in tinkercad?

  1. It's simple. Fist click on the component need to add.
  2. Now click the place where the component need to be placed.
  3. Click on the component pin or wire connection place and the wire may start to draw. Click on the places where the wire needed to be bend and click on the destination point of the wire.
These are the steps you need to follow and in our next post we will descuss a simple simulation project.
Good Bye all,
Please add your thoughts in the comment section.
